Simon Fitzpatrick

Simon has practised as a barrister in Sydney since 2010.  Before that he worked in New York for eight years, taught at the University of Sydney Law School, and was an associate at the High Court of Australia.

Simon’s practice includes commercial and corporate law, equity, public law, trade practices, defamation, and intellectual property. He has appeared in representative proceedings (both for applicants and respondents), ICAC investigations (both as counsel assisting the Commission and for a person affected), and trials and appeals in the Federal Court and NSW Supreme Court.

‘Best Lawyers in Australia’ recognises Simon in the area of ‘Litigation’ (9th ed, 2017; 10th ed, 2018; 11th ed, 2019).

Since June 2016, Simon has served as a volunteer Director of the Marrickville Legal Centre.
